Commander (retired) Torkel Lundholm (19 November, 1888 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Stevenston, Ayr, the son of C. D. Lundholm, Works Manager.[1]

Lundholm entered the Royal Navy ranked 40th in order of merit of sixty cadets accepted in the May 1904 intake term at H.M.S. Britannia.[2]

Lundholm was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1911.[3]

Lundholm was appointed to serve in H.M.S. Hibernia from May 1912 to 27 February, 1916. He was next assigned to Duke of Edinburgh from 8 March 1916. Over the summer, he did something highly questionable unusual, and was subjected to a Court Martial on a charge of acts prejudicial, etc., for "ordering a Stoker 1st Class to be placed in the sea." He was dismissed the ship and reprimanded on 10 August, 1916.[4]

Lundholm was appointed in command of the destroyer Lydiard on 10 April, 1918.[5]

Lundholm was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 October, 1919.[6]

On 2 November 1926, Lundholm was appointed to Excellent to head up the Photographic School.[7]

Lundholm was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 1 March, 1930.[8]
