Lieutenant-Commander Thomas Clarence Wilsone, O.B.E., R.N. (2 March, 1884 – 26 January, 1933) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

His service record has "Duke of Wellington" written across the top, perhaps suggesting his early education.

Born in Aberdeen, Wilsone's mother was listed as his guardian when he joined the training ship H.M.S. Britannia in September, 1898.[1]

Between January, 1901 and July, 1903, he served in Royal Oak, Niobe and Hogue. He was loaned to Cheerful for the Annual Manoeuvres of 1904, and then was appointed to the battleship Venerable in the Mediterranean on 5 September 1904.[2]

Wilsone was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1905. On 20 June, 1906 he was awarded the Royal Humane Society Bronze Medal and Certificate for saving the life of H. J. Harding at Lagos.[3]

Wilsone was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1913.[4]

He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 21 January, 1927.[5]
