The rank of Staff Captain was a commissioned rank in the Military Branch of the Royal Navy. It was established by Order in Council of 11 June, 1863. It ranked after Captains and above Commanders.[1] The last Staff Captain on the active list was John D. Moulton, who retired with the rank of Captain on 30 August, 1913.[2]
