Captain Robert Dalrymple Barwick Bruce, (23 November, 1849 – 3 February, 1901) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

He was appointed in command of H.M.S. Galatea, coastguard ship at Hull, in April 1900.

Death & Burial

He was discharged from Galatea at Spithead into Haslar Naval Hospital, when his ship arrived to join the fleet assembling to mark the funeral of Queen Victoria, but died, of pneumonia, on 3 February 1901,[1] and was buried with naval honours in Haslar Naval Cemetery in Gosport.[2]
