Admiral Reginald Arthur Allenby, M.V.O., D.S.O., Royal Navy, Retired (4 September, 1861 – 18 March, 1936) was an officer of the Royal Navy in the period up to and during the First World War.

Life & Career

On 31 December, 1902 he was promoted to the rank of Captain.[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 20 March, 1913, vice Pelham.[2]

Great War

Allenby was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 18 February, 1915.[3] On 11 April he was appointed temporary Lieutenant-Colonel as an Assistant Embarkation Staff Officer.[4]

On 1 January, 1918, he was appointed a companion of the Distinguished Service Order.[5] He was advanced to Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 20 January, 1918.[6]
