Admiral (retired) SIR Randolph Stewart Gresham Nicholson, K.B.E., C.B., D.S.O., D.S.C., R.N. (16 December, 1892 – 28 July, 1975) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of W. G. Nicholson, Esq..

Nicholson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 March, 1916.[1]

Nicholson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1924.[2]

Nicholson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1928.[3]

Nicholson was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1934.[4]

World War II

Nicholson was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 8 July, 1943.[5]

Nicholson was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 4 January, 1948.[6]

Nicholson was placed on the Retired List on 15 March, 1950 and promoted to the rank of Admiral on 15 January, 1951.[7]
