Muzzle Velocity is the speed with which a projectile leaves the mouth of a gun. It is seldom actually treated as a velocity (or vector).

Units of Measure

The British and Americans measured all projectile velocities in feet per second, sometimes abbreviated as f.s..

The Germans measured projectile velocities in metres per second.
