Captain (retired) SIR Lionel de Lautour Wells, C.B.E., R.N. (31 January, 1859 – 15 March, 1929) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

In July, 1871, Wells was ranked sixth in order of merit of thirty-five candidates accepted as Naval Cadets following the entrance examinations.[1]

Wells was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 11 September, 1881.

Wells was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1892.

Wells wasplaced on the Retired List on account of non-service with the rank of Captain on 7 November, 1901.
