Vice-Admiral James Lacon Hammet, C.V.O., Royal Navy (15 May, 1848 – 15 February, 1905) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Hammet was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 January, 1886, at the relatively young age of thirty-seven.[1] On 15 December, 1890, he was appointed in command of the troop ship Tamar.[2]
On 1 January, 1900, Hammet was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral.[3]
