Captain Herbert Laurence Edwards, R.N. (25 January, 1877 – 17 November, 1917) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1897.

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1909.[1]

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1915.

Edwards was appointed in command of the light cruiser Calypso on 28 May, 1917. He died of wounds sustained in the Second Battle of Heligoland Bight, likely when her conning tower was struck by a 5.9-in shell.
