H.M.S. Vanity was one of twenty-five "V" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1917-18.

Service

Vanity re-commissioned on 10 April, 1918.[5]

Vanity joined the Eleventh Destroyer Flotilla upon completion in July, 1918.[6]

She remained active with the Eleventh until it was disbanded in March, 1919, at which point she was allocated along with the Eleventh's other "V"s and "W"s to the new First Destroyer Flotilla.[7]

She was re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 4 December, 1923 for service in the Ninth Destroyer Flotilla in the Atlantic Fleet.[8]

She was re-commissioned with Reserve Crew on 23 November, 1925.[9]

Vanity paid off into Rosyth Maintenance Reserve on 10 October, 1928.[10]
