H.M.S. Pansy (1916)
Pendant Number: T.61 (Jan, 1916)
T.69 (Jan, 1918)[1]
Builder: William Hamilton & Company[2]
Ordered: Jul, 1915[3]
Launched: 1 Feb, 1916[4]
Sold: 12 Jan, 1920[5]
H.M.S. Pansy was one of thirty-six Arabis Class sweeping sloops completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Carnation was repaired after striking a mine in early 1917, and in August of that year Lt. Cdr. Barry Victor Sturdee was appointed in command. Sturdee had recently recovered after suffering what had been diagnosed as a "mental disturbance."[6]

On 25 November 1917, a Court of Enquiry was convened to probe a collision between Pansy and the sweeping sloop Carnation. Lt. Cdr. Barry Victor Sturdee of Carnation was cautioned to be more careful in future as a result.[7]
