H.M.S. Pactolus was completed as one of eleven Pelorus class cruisers, but served as a submarine depot ship in the Great War.

Service

She completed conversion to a submarine depot ship in September 1912.[7] She serviced the boats of the Ninth Submarine Flotilla out of the Clyde from at least mid-1913[8] through the start of the war through September 1916.

She paid off on 21 July, 1919.[9]
