H.M.S. Ormonde was one of twenty-two 24 Class sweeping sloops completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Ormonde arrived at Devonport on 7 February, 1923.[5] She completed fitting out as a surveying ship on 17 November, 1923. She was next to venture to the North American Station to relieve the Mutine.[6]

She was commissioned at Devonport on 3 March, 1924.[7]

The ship was re-commissioned at Devonport on 7 February, 1927.[8]

Ormonde was re-commissioned at Devonport on 3 September, 1929 for work as a surveying vessel.[9]

She re-commissioned at Devonport on 16 October, 1931.[10]

Ths ship was re-commissioned at Plymouth on 26 September, 1933.[11]

Ormonde was transferred to Dockyard Control at Devonport on 28 October, 1936[12] for sale on 6 August 1937.
