Service
Mariner commissioned at Devonport on 19 March, 1885 under command of John Durnford.[5]
The ship was re-commissioned at Trincomalee on 10 January, 1889.[6]
The Henry Warren Village Hall in Nyewood, West Sussex holds the ship's bell, which was purchased from the Admiralty when the ship was scrapped in Blyth in 1929. As of 2022 the bell is being installed in the replacement village hall.[7]
