H.M.S. Forester was one of eighteen "E" and "F" Class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Forester was launched on 28 June, 1934. Two of her sisters were launched the same day at the Barrow yard of Vickers-Armstrong: Fame and Firedrake.[3]

Forester was commissioned at Portsmouth on 23 April, 1935.[4]

She was re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 3 March, 1936 for service with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla of the Home Fleet.[5]
