H.M.S. Edinburgh Castle was a commercial liner converted for use as an Armed Merchant Cruiser in the Royal Navy.

Service

She commissioned at Tilbury on 12 September, 1914.[5]

She was placed out of R.N. commission in 1919, but would also be called up in World War II, where she remained docked in Freetown, South Africa and housed men displaced from sunken merchant ships.

Armament

During the Great War she was armed with:[6]
