H.M.S. E 48 was one of 57 submarines of the "E" class.

Service

On 17 January 1918 near Hierro Island in the Canaries, E 48 torpedoed Template:DE-U156, but the torpedo failed to explode.[6]

Dates of appointment are provided when known.

  • Lieutenant F. H. Taylor, D.S.C., in command on 17 January, 1918.[7]
