H.M.S. Cornwall (1926)
Builder: Devonport Royal Dockyard[1]
Laid down: 9 Oct, 1924[2]
Launched: 11 Mar, 1926[3]
Completed: 23 Jan, 1928[4]

H.M.S. Cornwall was one of seven Kent Class cruisers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

She completed her construction at Devonport Dockyard, first under the oversight of the rather sinisterly-named Commander Robert Holmes De'ath[6] until mid-1927 when Captain The Hon. William S. Leveson-Gower arrived. He would commission her in the coming January.

Cornwall was completed to full complement at Devonport on 3 May, 1928.[7]

She re-commissioned at Devonport on 12 February, 1931.[8]

She re-commissioned at Devonport on 19 December, 1933 for service with the Fifth Cruiser Squadron on the China Station.[9]

She was taken into Dockyard Control at The Nore on 1 September 1936.[10]
