Chief Boatswain George Harris, R.N. ( – 2 September, 1923) served in the Royal Navy.

There is another George Harris, a gunner born 9 October, 1872.

Life & Career of the Bosun

Harris was promoted to the rank of Boatswain on 12 May, 1880.

He was pensioned at his own request on 6 February, 1899. Later that year, he asked to re-join the navy but was told his request "c[ould] not be entertained." He was, however, taken up again for wartime service.

Harris was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Chief Boatswain on 27 May, 1916. He died at Plymouth Hospital of stomach cancer on 2 September, 1923.
