Admiral Franz Ritter von Hipper (13 September, 1863 – 25 May, 1932) was an officer of the Kaiserliche Marine in the First World War, and commanded the scouting group during the Battle of Jutland.

Hipper was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 11 August, 1918.^[1]
