Rear-Admiral (retired) Francis Raymond Pelly, (19 December, 1850 – 11 November, 1907) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Pelly was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 22 December, 1874.[1]

Pelly was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1889.[2]

Pelly was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1896.[3]

In 1903, Pelly's Benbow turned in poor results in a Prize Firing, eliciting displeasure from the Admiralty.[4]

Pelly was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 19 December, 1905 and subsequently promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on the Retired List on 23 November, 1906. He died a little less than a year after retirement.[5]
