Captain R.N.R. (retired) Edward Stirling Carver, R.D. (6 December, 1878 – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve. His Service Record has his birth year as 1879, but he gave the year as 1878 when he reported himself unfit for further service in 1948.

Life & Career

Carver was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 16 April, 1908.[1]

Carver was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 16 April, 1916. He was thanked for providing good service in command of PC 65 on 24 December, 1917. In 1918, he would receive an adverse report for grounding the boat. Also in 1918, he would be mentioned in despatches and be credited with attacking an enemy submarine.[2]

Carver was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 31 December, 1920.[3]

Carver was placed on the Retired List owing to a lack of sea service on 4 January, 1923 and was promoted to the rank of Captain R.N.R. on 31 December, 1923.[4]

World War II

Carver was living in Littlehampton in October 1948.[5]
