Admiral Crawford Maclachlan, C.B., Retired (11 July, 1867 – 21 April, 1952) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Maclachlan's Commander in the Prince George, Sydney Fremantle, later described him as, "a hard-bitten little Scotsman, who was an accomplished seaman, most thorough in his methods, and had a quiet but forceful habit of command which inspired great confidence."[1]
Maclachlan was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1908.[2]
Post-War
Maclachlan was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 17 February, 1920, vice Hickley.[3]
Maclachlan was promoted to the the rank of Vice-Admiral on 1 July, 1925, vice Nicholson.[4]
He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 1 April, 1930.[5]
