The word "Scout" is variously used within the Royal Navy, sometimes as a ship type designation (a scout cruiser), and sometimes as a specific ship class -- particularly the four 2-ship classes launched in 1904. It is not always clear when looking at a source that refers to the "Scout class" whether the writer is including the Boadicea, Blonde and Active classes.
