Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. (retired) Arthur William Knight, R.D. (17 January, 1891 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Knight was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 September, 1916. Oddly, in 1917, it is noted that his promotion was to be deferred as he was not recommended.[1]

Wright was appointed in command of the destroyer Violet on 24 November, 1917.[2]

In 1918 he received an adverse report in the grounding of Violet. He was warned to be more careful. On 22 September 1918, he collided with the drifter Angelina, and was "considered entirely to blame."[3]

Demobilised on 20 December, 1919, Knight was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 19 June, 1924.[4]
