Commander Alfred Fletcher Coplestone-Boughey, (29 June, 1883 – 31 May, 1916) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Wolverhaught.

Coplestone-Boughey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1903.[1]

Coplestone-Boughey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1911.[2]

Coplestone-Boughey was briefly appointed to the armoured cruiser H.M.S. Euryalus at the outset of the war, but was moved to armoured cruiser H.M.S. Defence as Navigating Officer in October 1914. He was promoted while serving in this, his last appointment, to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1915, as he would die in the cruiser at the Battle of Jutland.[3]
