Commander R.N.R. (retired) Alexander Duff Thomson, D.S.C.* (30 August, 1886 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Thomson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 September, 1916.[1]

In 1919, he was cautioned after drawing tobacco and cigarettes from bond in excess of requirements. He was demobilised in 30 October 1919.[2]

Thomson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 September, 1924.[3]

Thomson was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 18 January, 1927.[4]

In 1948, he reported that he was retired and happily working in his garden in Auckland, New Zealand. He had no telephone number.[5]
