Captain (retired) Henry Noel Marryat Hardy, D.S.O., R.N. (1 December, 1884 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Brompton, the son of J. A. Hardy, medical practitioner.[1]

Hardy was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 July, 1905.[2]

Hardy was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 July, 1913.[3]

Hardy was promoted to the rank of Flight Commander on 2 September, 1916.[4]

Hardy was promoted to the rank of Squadron Commander in June 1917.[5]

Hardy was promoted to the rank of Commander on 23 April, 1918.[6]

Hardy was placed on the Retired List upon the expiration of his foreign service leave on 10 February, 1926 and was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 1 December, 1929.[7]

World War II

Commanded the yacht Shemani from 21 September 1939 to 9 March, 1940. He then commanded a fleet tender "C" and Carnarvon Castle from 30 May, 1940 to 11 APril, 1942, vice De Meric.[8]
