Admiral SIR Robert Lindsay Burnett, K.C.B., D.S.O. (22 July, 1887 – 2 July, 1959) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Aberdeenshire, Burnett was raised by his mother.

Burnett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1910.

Burnett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1918.

Post-War

Burnett was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1923.

Burnett was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1930.

World War II

Burnett was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 15 January, 1941.

Burnett was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 9 December, 1943.

Burnett was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 15 September, 1946.

Retired 1 May, 1950.
