Jump to navigationJump to searchCommander (retired) George Ronald Hindley Smith, (10 July, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Smith was appointed to the battlecruiser Princess Royal from 15 April, 1915 through 27 October, 1917, se3rving in her at the Battle of Jutland. He then served in the light cruiser Concord through the end of the war, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1918.
He retired on 1 November, 1922.
Smith was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired) on 15 October, 1926.
World War II
Smith was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 3 September, 1945.
