Jump to navigationJump to searchLieutenant R.N.R. Lawrence William Newbery-Boschetti (15 August, 1884 – 26 October, 1918) served in the Royal Naval Reserve. He spoke some Spanish.
Life & Career
Newbery-Boschetti earned first-class certificates in gunnery and torpedoes in 1914 before the war started.
Newbery-Boschetti was promoted to the rank of Acting Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R. on 3 January, 1910.[1]
Newbery-Boschetti was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R. on 16 June, 1911.[2]
Newbery-Boschetti was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 16 June, 1913.[3]
Newbery-Boschetti died of an illness while in command of P32 on 26 October, 1918. It seems likely that this eas influenza, as the boat suffered five other deaths to illness, many around this date.[4]
