George Cuthbert Cayley

Admiral George Cuthbert Cayley, C.B., Royal Navy, Retired (30 August, 1866 – 21 December, 1944) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

In the King's Birthday Honours of 3 June, 1916, Cayley was appointed a Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.).[1]

Cayley was appointed Senior Naval Officer at Harwich on 3 September, 1914.[2] He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 28 April, 1917.[3]

Cayley was appointed an Area Commander in the Royal Air Force on 1 April, 1918, with the temporary rank of Major-General.[4]
