H.M.S. Æolus was one of 21 Apollo class second-class cruisers completed in the early to mid 1890s.
Construction
Æolus was launched on 13 November, 1891. She was christened by Lady Molyneux, the wife of Devonport Admiral Superintendent Sir Robert Molyneux.[6]
