Vice-Admiral Sidney Robert Drury-Lowe, C.M.G., Royal Navy, Retired (19 October, 1871 – 24 January, 1945) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

He was confirmed in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant dated 14 May, 1891. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 14 May, 1892.[1]

On 31 December, 1902 he was promoted to the rank of Commander.[2]

"Commander Sidney R. Drury-Lowe, as second-in-command of the barracks, has failed in the performance of his duties as executive officer, and will be superseded."[3]

He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1909.[4]

Post-War

Drury-Lowe was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 19 February, 1920, vice Caulfeild.[5] He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the retired List on the Retired List on 12 August, 1925.[6]

Drury-Lowe died at St. Annes-on-Sea of heart failure on 24 January, 1945 aged seventy-three. He left a widow, Clare, of 103 Hamilton Terrace, London, N.W.8. He was cremated privately on 26 January.[7]
