Charles Augustus Gove, U.S.N. (5 July, 1854 – ?) was an officer of the United States Navy.

Gove was born in Concord, New Hampshire, the son of Jesse Augustus Gove (1824–1862) and Maria Louise Sherburne (1830–1906). He was nominated at large to the United States Naval Academy and entered the United States Navy on 9 June, 1871.

On 23 May, 1887 he married Minnie Webster of San Francisco, California in Boston, Massachusetts.

On 10 December 1906, Commander Gove commissioned the new light cruiser Milwaukee.[1] From 1908 to 1909 he was Commandant of the United States Naval Academy, before he was promoted to Captain. He then took command of the newly-launched battleship Delaware.
