Admiral William Henry Baker Baker, O.B.E., Royal Navy, Retired (7 December, 1862 – 7 August, 1932) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
He came thirty-first in order of merit out of forty-two candidates who passed the examination for naval cadetships.[1]
Baker Baker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 January, 1886.[2]
Baker Baker was promoted to the rank of Commander on 22 June, 1897.[3]
Captain
Baker Baker was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1903.[4]
He was appointed command of the battleship Cornwallis on 4 June, 1908.[5]
Flag Rank
Baker Baker was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 4 June, 1913, vice Warrender, and in accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 December.[6] He was advanced to Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 1 September, 1918,[7] and to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 1 June, 1922.[8]
