Service

Recommissioned at Chatham 16 February, 1910.[7] In mid-1913, she was with the Third Fleet.[8]

On 13 December, 1914, Ocean was dispatched to Suez.[9]

Only a single man, a stoker, was killed with her sinking on 18 March, 1915.[10]

Torpedoes

In 1904, in a competition to investigate how rapidly submerged tubes could be fired four times sequentially, starting with the tube loaded and the bar out, the ship's crew was able to do this in 8 minutes, 55 seconds.  The best time was achieved by Cressy at 50.75 seconds, though times of 3-5 minutes were more typical.[11]

Captains

Dates of appointment are provided when known.
