Captain Richard Horne, D.S.O., (21 May, 1877 – 3 February, 1927) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Horne was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1899.

He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1911.

Horne was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1917.[1]

He was appointed in command of the Barham on 1 October, 1918, and as Chief Staff Officer.[2]

Horne was placed on the Retired List, antedated 24 February, 1923. He was killed in a motor accident in 1927, just outside Petworth, Sussex.[3]
