Commander R.N.R. (retired) Gilbert Richard Gilbert (2 March, 1889 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Gilbert was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 9 April, 1917. He was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 18 on 15 August, 1917.[1]

He was demobilised on 6 September 1919.[2]

Gilbert was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 9 April, 1925.[3]

He was placed on the Retired List on 4 April, 1926.[4]

Gilbert was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. at some point.[5]

World War II

In October 1939, appointed to D.E.M.S., Southampton. In 1948 he reported that he was unemployed in Portchester, Hants.
