H.M.S. R 10 (1918)
Pendant Number: R.10[1]
Builder: Armstrong, Whitworth & Company[2]
Ordered: October, 1917[3]
Launched: 5 Oct, 1918[4]
Sold: Feb, 1929[5]

H.M.S. R 10 was one of 10 submarines of the "R" class.

Service

At the end of 1920, all "R" class submarines other than R 4 were allocated to Group "K" of Reserve submarines at Portsmouth under the collective command of Lieutenant Vivian R. S. Bowlby, tenders to Dolphin.[6]

On 15 September, 1922, R 10-12 were sent to join Group "L" under Lieutenant Commander Frank P. Busbridge, joining three "G" class submarines.[7]

Completed to full complement on 9 April, 1923.[8]

From at least mid-1927[9], she was part of the Sixth Submarine Flotilla, tender to Vulcan.

In April, 1928, she paid off into Dockyard Control to be prepared for sale, her place in 6 S.F. to be taken by H 24, which was brought to full commission from reserve.[10]
