Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. Donald McAllister ( – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

McAllister was promoted to the rank of Temporary Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R. on 23 May, 1917. He was appointed to the minesweeper Muskerry on 10 July 1917 for navigating duties, and re-appointed in this role upon his promotion to the rank of Temporary Acting Lieutenant R.N.R. on 11 August, 1917. She paid off on 28 February, 1918 and McAllister received the Admiralty's displeasure following her grounding at some point.[1]

Temporary Acting Lieutenant, R.N.R. McAllister was appointed to the destroyer Onslow on 27 June, 1918.[2] It is not clear that this was in command, and indeed his Service Record does not mention the ship at all.

McAllister was promoted to the rank of Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. on 23 May, 1919.[3]

His demobilisation was first dated 25 November 1919 but was post-dated to 10 February, 1920. In actuality, it occurred upon his arrival in Singapore on 7 March, 1920.[4]
