Captain R.N.R. William Ansdell Thompson, R.D. (18 March, 1888 – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Thompson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 August, 1915.[1]

Thompson was appointed in command of the destroyer Wizard on 6 April, 1916.[2]

Thompson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 2 August, 1923.[3]

Thompson was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 31 December, 1931.[4]

Thompson was promoted to the rank of Captain R.N.R. (retired) on 31 December, 1937.[5]

Thompson was placed on the Retired List as medically unfit on 3 December, 1944. He loved until 1959 at the very least, residing in Hull throughout his life.[6]
