Captain R.N.R. (retired) Thomas Victor Roberts, R.D. (29 August, 1887 – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Roberts was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 January, 1916.[1]

Roberts was appointed in command of the destroyer Leven on 5 September, 1918.[2] Later that year, he was cautioned following a collision with the trawler Sabreur.[3]

He suffered an unsatisfactory S.206 report from Wilfred Tomkinson dated 31 December 1918 which said he "ha[d] not shown himself to be a good commanding offr. of a destroyer."[4]

Roberts was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 January, 1924.[5]

Roberts was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 30 June, 1931.[6]

World War II

In late 1948, he reported that he was a Master in the Merchant Navy.
