Rear-Admiral SIR Edward Chichester, Ninth Baronet, C.B., Royal Navy (20 November, 1849 – 17 September, 1906) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

For services rendered during the operations in Egypt, Chichester was specially promoted to the rank of Commander with seniority of 18 November, 1882.[1]

On 6 November, 1900, for his services in South Africa, Chichester was appointed a Companion in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.).[2]

Chichester was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 25 January, 1902, vice Fanshawe.[3] He was appointed to succeed Vice-Admiral William Acland as Admiral-Superintendent at Gibraltar on 10 June, 1904.[4]
