Admiral Hubert Grant-Dalton, Royal Navy, Retired (21 July, 1862 – 22 April, 1934) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Early Life & Career
He came third in order of merit out of forty-two candidates who passed the examination for naval cadetships.[1]
Grant-Dalton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1895.[2]
Grant-Dalton was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1904.[3]
He was appointed in command of H.M.S. Ramillies and a group of special service ships on 1 February, 1908.[4]
Great War
Grant-Dalton was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 11 April, 1915, vice Moggridge.[5] Due to the lack of positions available for an officer of his age, he was placed on the Retired List on 2 June.[6] He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral (Retired) on 1 November, 1919,[7] and to the rank of Admiral on 1 August, 1924.[8]
