Lieutenant-Commander William St. John Fraser (18 September, 1883 – c. 21 January, 1915) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Edinburgh, Fraser was the son of Edinburgh University Professor Sir Thomas R. Fraser.
Fraser was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 18 December, 1904.
Fraser was appointed in command of the submarine D 7 on 15 October, 1912[1] and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 18 December, 1912.
He was appointed in command of the submarine E 10 in mid 1914. He would prove to be her only commander, as he died with his entire crew when E 10 was lost between 18 and 25 January, 1915. The 21st was taken as the official date.[2]
