Captain William Osbert Boothby, C.B., C.V.O. (7 January, 1866 – 20 May, 1913) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Boothby was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 January, 1899.[1]

On 1 January, 1903 he was promoted to the rank of Captain.[2]

He was appointed command of Minotaur on 1 April, 1908.[3]

Following King Edward VII's visit to Boothby, Nicholson was appointed a Member of the Fourth Class of the Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) on 10 June, 1908.[4]

He was appointed Naval Assistant to the Second Sea Lord on 8 December, 1909.[5]

On the occasion of King George V's coronation he was appointed an Additional Member of the Third Class, or Companion, in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 19 June, 1911.[6]
