Admiral William Marrack, Royal Navy, Retired (18 February, 1847 – 23 January, 1926) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Early Life & Career
He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 4 April, 1870.[1]
Marrack was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1882.[2]
He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1888.[3]
In March 1897, he became Captain of Royal Oak, staying with her for two years.
Marrack was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 24 January, 1902, vice Jackson.[4] He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 11 November, 1906, vice Beresford.[5]
In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List, at his own request, on 17 November, 1906.[6] He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 10 February, 1911.[7]
Marrack died at Plymouth on 23 January, 1926 of a cerebral hemorrhage.[8]
