Captain (retired) William George Ainslie Kennedy, R.N. (16 September, 1873 – 25 November, 1938) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Kennedy was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1896.
Kennedy was appointed in command of the destroyer Boxer in June, 1905.[1]
Kennedy was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1907.
Kennedy was appointed in command of the destroyer Syren on 4 June, 1913.[2]
He was appointed in command of the second class protected cruiser Thetis on 30 January, 1914.[3]
Kennedy was interned in Norway following the loss of the armed merchant cruiser India under his command on 8 August, 1915.
On 11 March, 1919, Kennedy was appointed in command of the first class protected cruiser Diadem.[4]
Kennedy was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 22 October, 1921.
